Welcome from our Managing Director
An important time to join Cornwall Housing
Cornwall Housing has changed considerably over recent years. We have made significant progress in strengthening our services, investing in residents’ homes and improving the way we work.
On 1st October 2026, Cornwall Council announced that it had received a C2 grading following an inspection by the Regulator of Social Housing. Cornwall Housing’s services formed a significant part of that inspection, so this outcome also recognises the commitment, professionalism and determination of colleagues across our organisation.
Inspectors recognised our approach to resident safety, our commitment to resident engagement and the positive culture they observed across Cornwall Housing and Cornwall Council. They highlighted the openness and honesty of colleagues and our shared focus on doing the right thing for residents. We are proud of that recognition and grateful to everyone who has contributed to our improvement journey.
We are equally clear that there is more to do. Our ambition is to achieve the highest grading of C1, and work is already underway to address the areas identified for further improvement, including repairs performance, the quality of homes, complaint handling and our understanding of residents’ needs.
The Head of Repairs & Maintenance and Commercial Manager will both have an important part to play in this next phase. We need strong operational leadership and commercial capability, alongside people who understand that sustainable change happens through people. Our residents, colleagues, partners and stakeholders all have a role in shaping how our services develop.
If you want to make a visible difference, are comfortable asking questions and challenging constructively, and can bring people with you as you turn ideas into action, this is an exciting time to join Cornwall Housing.
